In the summer of 1971 I created one small multimedia piece for 26 days in July and August outside in my backyard. Each is on an 8”x10” construction paper. They are all done in pastels, ink, ebony pencil, dyes, metallic pens acrylic and gauche. Accomplishing this disciplined a body of more or less traditional painted work was very rewarding ….I decided to repeat the exercise again in 2010 - forty years later. This time they will be 9”x12”. Same media as above. I completed 63 this time. They are titled by date. this one is May 10th, 2010. The first 21 are up on my website http://rickhoffmanart.com/painting10.htm. I will post the others here.

In the summer of 1971 I did one small multimedia piece for 26 days in July and August. Each is on an 8”x10” piece of construction paper. They are all multi media done in pastels, ink, ebony pencil and gauche. Accomplishing this disciplined a body of more or less traditional painted work was very rewarding since this was a time when I experimented with painting found objects like wicker chairs, a car hood and half tires because I had become self conscious of the obvious “window like” concept of painting on canvas (or just as much paper!)”
