Watchthis summer I repeated an exercise I did a long time ago where I did “a painting” every day outside all summer. That year I did 26. This year I did 60. Each was 9”x12” on paper in mixed Media- crayons, watercolor, markers, pigments, and ink. This is a short movie of all of them. In the summer of 1971 I did one small multimedia piece for 26 days in July and August. Each is on an 8”x10” piece of construction paper. They are all multi media done in pastels, ink, ebony pencil and gauche. Accomplishing this disciplined a body of more or less traditional painted work was very rewarding since this was a time when I experimented with painting found objects...
